The Fear of Negative Thinking Written by Jenny M Smith 15/09/2010 During the last few years, beliefs regarding positive thinking have taken on an authority of their own. Formed by the feeling of desperation, many have adopted an additional fear--- a fear of negative thinking. The trepidation that if they accept a hopeful approach they might be overwhelmed with disappointment. In other words, we are afraid that being optimistic might set us up for being wrong most of the time and then also the dread of being disillusioned. Worry, anxiety, anger, resentment and low self-esteem are the initial signs of this kind of fear. This is also one of the principal reasons of depression and inefficiency. Fear is the most prevailing, wide-ranging method of conditioning in our society in the present day. Apprehension is the root cause of all pessimistic thinking. It truly is everywhere all at once. Belief of not being strong or good enough to cope with the world around you, not actually deserving success, that you are weak, or else that you are not able to control your life. This fear is a negative belief in your mind. It is behind cynicism illness and even poor human relations. Normal fear is acceptable, it will keep you safe and alert, but abnormal fear can be extremely damaging and might even ruin your life However by far, the most detrimental and negative way fear is used, is when you use it at yourself, conditioning yourself unknowingly with the lack of self worth and self-confidence. The overwhelming majority of the feelings we have are not even created by us; they were implanted into our minds by external sources like friends, relatives and the media. Every one of your experiences, all your actions, and all the events and circumstances of your existence are but the reflections and reactions to your own thoughts. When you give them control, they will create the actions that decide the course of your life. To provide these feelings with authority is effortless, all you have to do is concentrate on them. As a result of focusing on any belief you begin to associate with that way of thinking. Sooner or later those thoughts will take over your life. Your subconscious mind works for positive and negative thoughts alike. If you give them control your subconscious will accurately reproduce the suggestion impressed upon it. You have to keep in mind that your subconscious mind does not engage in proving if your thoughts are good or bad, true or false, positive or negative, it just react in accordance to the nature of your feelings. Most of your worries or fears have no reality. They are simply ugly shadows, and shadows contain no legitimacy, and do not actually exist, except for as a belief in your psyche. You have the choice to decide, you can assert positively within your conscious mind now, to change your mind and look at your fears, hold them up toward the light of reason. Learn to laugh at your concerns and always visualize a happy conclusion or answer to your problems. Experience the excitement of accomplishment and success, and what you visualize and experience, will be acknowledged by your subconscious mind. At all times keep your mind busy with the expectation of the optimistic and your subconscious will faithfully reproduce what you consistent thinking about.
You have to figure out who you are, why you have this fear and anxiety. Recognize where you come from and deal with your own personal history, come to terms with your past. Forgive yourself as well as other people, and be present to precisely what makes up the lights as well as the shadows of your psyche. All this needs to be completed before you ever hope to visualize some new version of yourself that is essentially different to your existing reality.

![]() You are as Young as your Thoughts. Written by Jenny M Smith 06/10/2010 Scientists nowadays believe that the irrational fear of the effects of time might well be the reason of premature ageing. It is the fear of time, not time itself that has a harmful effect on our minds as well as on our bodies. Time is infinite and age is not a flight of years, but the dawn of knowledge. Although in this day and age the emphasis is placed on youth in spite of the fact that youth stands for inexperience, lack of discernment, and hasty judgment. A mental outlook of futility and insignificance is the foremost reason for bad health and the fear of getting older. There are so many people who dread the passing of time and are uncertain about the future, because they believe old age is the end of everything. You have to take pity on somebody who has no anchor, no hope, and no vision. For them life has no meaning. This type of believe brings frustration, stagnation, pessimism, and a sense of despair resulting in psychosis of all kinds. Countless people suffer from the dread of ageing. It haunts them even in their happiest moments. They frantically try to stay young. Every wrinkle, every sign of the approaching years get scrutinized under a magnifying glass and whatever solution they believe in at the moment will be applied as soon as possible. All the plastic surgery, all the botox, diets and exercises of all kinds will not keep you young if your subconscious mind is not conditioned by your thoughts to stay young. Your subconscious mind never grow old…… use it now to recapture the days of your youth. Visualize yourself as happy and radiant, successful, serene, and powerful. Feel the miraculous, healing, self-renewing power of your subconscious mind moving through your whole being. Know and feel that you are inspired, lifted up, re-energized, invigorated and recharged. You grow old when you cease to dream, and when you lose interest in life. Open your mind to new ideas, new interests, and let in the sunshine and inspiration of new truths into your life. If you are hungering and thirsting after new truths, your body and mind will reflect this in a positive way at all times and you will find your mind will keep you young. Getting older is to be welcomed joyfully and gladly as each phase of human life is a step forward on the path, which has no end. Age has its own glory, beauty and wisdom, which belong to it. Peace, love, joy happiness, goodwill, and understanding are qualities, which never grow old or die and the "secret" of youth is love, joy, inner peace, and laughter. Choose to be happy ……, discover happiness within yourself. Do not wait for somebody else or something else to make you happy. Believe in your inner power. Banish all fear and harmful thoughts and you will succeed and be happy. You are as young as you think you are. You are as strong as you think you are. You are as useful as you think you are.
You are as young as your thoughts.
